I'm the tech support person for my family. My adult granddaughter has a recurring problem with Messages on her iPhone 11. A couple of weeks ago, she asked me to figure out why photos she got from friends in Messages refused to open. I came to this forum and found a (if not THE) solution.
I followed the same steps and again fixed the problem. Now we're all wondering what causes this situation to develop in the first place. I've checked a few things on her phone, and I've found— · Her storage is kinda full, but not quite maxed out. She does use iCloud to store her photos.I thought maybe she was in a wrong album or something and signed onto her iCloud to investigate and sure enough, all her best photos are gone, trips she took, places she visited, family but not ALL the photos, there’s like a couple left from each time, so it’s not like a whole month or day or something is missing, just a bunch of random photos from random different times.She has it automatically backing up and most recent photos, photos from that day showed up in her cloud so I don’t think it was a backup issue as that seems to be working fine. She doesn’t do much on her phone and she swears she’s never messed with albums and stuff and absolutely did NOT delete anything, I did check her deleted folder and they’re not in there. What’s even more bizarre though, is she figured she could at least salvage some from her messages, because she sent a lot of them to friends and stuff at the time she took them, but in EVERY single one of her text conversations, the photos are ALSO gone: you can see where they were, there are blank text bubbles where the photos HAD been, and people’s responses right after so we know they were sent and went through, there were no issues at the time but it’s been a couple months since.What would cause certain random photos to just completely disappear, from her albums in her phone and her cloud, but also from her sent messages and conversations with people for no reason? It’s almost as if the phone had a mind of its own and just didn’t like those particular photos and made sure they didn’t exist.

Kent starts with a mistake many people make when they’re out shooting: taking a single photo and moving on too quickly. Nervousness or hesitation often means you settle for the easy shot instead of working a scene.Kent then shifts to another problem that shows up in countless images: flat light. At first, it can be hard to even recognize why a photo feels dull. But when you compare images from overcast or midday sun with those that use light and shadow intentionally, the difference becomes clear.Flat photos lack layers. They don’t feel three-dimensional or immersive. By paying attention to where shadows fall, where highlights meet darkness, and how different layers of light stack together, you start creating images with more depth.That awareness is what makes a picture feel alive rather than lifeless. The video also touches on the importance of mystery. Kent suggests that many great photographs don’t spell everything out. Instead of giving the viewer all the information, they ask a question, spark curiosity, or leave room for interpretation.

I think I can say that the app is significantly more stable. I haven’t had it crash once.The new thumbnails feature seems to be working as expected, too, even when pulling down thumbnails from the OneDrive cloud.) Like any app, Photos crashed occasionally within Windows 10—in Photos’ case, after editing a photo and then trying to save it. Within Windows 11, the app crashes even more frequently, for a variety of reasons.Somewhere between opening a file, editing it, and then saving the edited photo, Photos will simply hang or crash, forcing you to restart the editing process all over again. Sometimes my edits will actually save. Sometimes they won’t. It all adds a bit of mystery! Why can’t I just automatically save the edited photo as a new file?

While likes/upvotes and compliments are nice, they do not further the goal of helping people improve their photography.Your DSLR photos will be better only if you edit, which is why most people give up on photography when they find out they have to do more work on composition & post processing to make better images and that the gear doesn't automatically give you professional images.But i should atleast be able to replicate the same thing using a camera which is meant for taking photos specifically:) Maybe my editing skills suck but still, idk what else can i do to improve the image apart from making it extremely hdr-ish garbage..

How the smile and worry lines that weren’t there 10 years ago have somehow embedded their way into our skin. Not only do we see changes in our physical appearance but also in our relationships. When we pull out the camera and take photos of family activities we love doing together such as summer trips or holiday gatherings, it provides us with images that show our shared experiences and gives us a sense of belonging.Years after the images are taken we can reminisce with loved ones about what actually happened before or after the picture (because we all tend to remember things slightly different). Looking at photos of loved ones who have passed away can be a bittersweet experience.Childhood photos often show how traditions, religion and values play a role in the family. They give us an insight into which holidays were celebrated, what family traditions were practiced, what responsibilities were expected and values were instilled. It is also interesting to see how photos can show family roles and dynamics changing and evolving over time.How things shift when a new sibling arrives or when kids become teens. Family photos over many years also act as a visual timeline. They show those who have weaved in and out of our lives and those who have been there the whole time.
