Why do the photos from my phone look much better than the dslr? How can i improve :(

Top Comment: Iphone applies auto settings to your image. It will almost always be better than an uneditiled RAW. Your DSLR photos will be better only if you edit, which is why most people give up on photography when they find out they have to do more work on composition & post processing to make better images and that the gear doesn't automatically give you professional images.

Why do we take pictures?

Main Post:

What drives you to keep taking pictures? Social media, business, for yourself or anything else. What are your goals?

I'm personally about to take a vacation to Hawaii and literally thinking about not bringing camera. I kind of want enjoy it all to myself and not worry about all this camera equipment. Plus I don't want to ruin it with my girlfriend.

Top Comment: I do sometimes wonder if it's worth the trouble. I don't share my photos much, which is a shame. However, I set my favorite photos as Desktop wallpaper, so I can enjoy them (and the memories they invoke) on a daily basis. I also like the process: Photography can make me more present* and enhance my memories (as well as substitute for them). I pay more attention to the environment, lighting, building, landscapes, people, etc. when searching for photo-worthy views and compositions. Photography also serves as a motivating excuse to make that extra effort to get a good photo, e.g. go places, or seek vantage points that I otherwise might pass up. It's a motivation to get up early to photograph a site with fewer people, or linger at a scenic location until sunset, to capture the most beautiful light. I also enjoy editing my travel photos afterwards. It gives me a chance to review the vacation, at least in part. The process of editing helps me improve my eye for good compositions, as well as my technical skills. And my editing skills and styles have improved over the years as a consequence. As above, my favorite photos end up as wallpaper on my computer Desktop. * Of course, photography can also pull you out of the moment. Photography can be a nuisance that creates a barrier between you and your traveling companion. Photography can interfere with your shared experiences of a given place or moment, if your companion is always having to wait for you. It can be a tough balance, even when you make a conscious effort to not let the photography interfere. But it can be done, or at least you can minimize the annoyances to acceptable levels, if you try.

How do I post a picture on the reddit WEBSITE

Main Post:

My phone won't let me use the app for reasons already answered (that I can't change) so is there any way I can post pictures on the website?

Top Comment: If the subreddit allows image posts you post images like any other post you make. Go to the subreddit you want to post the image in Click Create post Click Image tab Enter the image/s and title Click Post You only get the caption option if you are posting multiple images at a time If you want post an image with text Go to the subreddit that allows images Click Create Post Click Post Tab If the subreddit allows this type of post, look for an image in the formatting bar at the bottom of the text box, at the far right, that looks like a picture with a mountain and a sun. Click it, add your image, add a caption if desired, hit enter to get to the text box Type what you want Click post.
